Men's 1500 - En route to the closest race of the Championships -- Mehdi Baala (#428) edged Reyes Estevez (#263), both clocking 3:45.25; Rui Silva (#1216) was third, with Fouad Chouki (behind Estevez) fourth.



A man for championships - Kostadinos Kenteris of Greece added the European crown to his Olympic and World titles, dominating the final (right) with a sizzling 19.85, a new championship record



Briton Colin Jackson won his fourth consecutive 110m hurdles title in a seasonal best 13.11. At 35, Jackson was the oldest in the field.



Briton Jade Johnson reached a personal best 6.73 (22'-1") to take the silver in the long jump



Estonia's Erki Nool won silver in the decathlon with an 8,438 point tally



Ekateríni Thánou (right) handily won the 100 in 11.10; Manuela Levorato of Italy was third in 11.23







Super Teen -- Sweden's Caroline Kluft raised her own World Junior record to 6,542 points in the heptathlon, just three weeks after winning the World Junior title with a record tally
